Pick orders in WMS

Pick orders in WMS

Overview

After your sales orders and branch transfers have been released to pick, you can pick those items in WMS.

You can choose what orders and items you are picking. To keep track of the items as they are picked in the warehouse, you can use totes.

Once you have picked your orders, they are then ready to pack and ship.

Pick orders

You can pick any sales orders and branch transfers that have been released to pick.

  1. Select the WMS menu and then select Picking.

  2. Click Pick Next Group to quickly select the next order. You can also choose an order in the dropdown or by entering an order reference.
You can select multiple orders to pick.

  3. Select Click to Pick. This will prevent other users from picking the same order.

  4. A list of items will appear with their location. You can sort the list of items by their branch location, product, or order reference.

  5. Select the item you want to pick.

  6. Click on the plus icon or scan the item to pick it. Click or scan until the number matches what you picked. You can also type the amount you have picked into the number field.

  7. You will need toselect the serial number items, batch number items and items in multiple locations before you can pick them.

  8. When you have finished picking, click Complete.

If an order has only some items picked, a warning will appear when you click Complete. You can cancel (and pick the remaining items) or continue to packing. After packing the order, a backorder will be created for all unpicked items.

Pick serial number items

You will need to choose the serial number for each item you pick. You can only pick one serial number for each item.

  1. Click Select next to the item's serial number and then click on the plus icon.

  2. Repeat this by selecting and then picking each serial number for the order.

Pick batch number items

You will need to choose which batch number the items have. You can pick multiple items with the same batch number.

  1. Click Select next to the item's batch number.

  2. Click on the plus icon until the number matches what you picked.

Pick items in multiple locations

If your item is racked in multiple locations, you will need to choose items in the location you picked from.

  1. Click Select next to the location you picked from.

  2. Click on the plus icon until the number matches what you picked.

Tote picking

Tote picking helps you track items as they are picked and loaded onto different kinds of trolleys. Depending on your Warehouse Management settings, pickers can assign each order to an individual tote or to multiple totes.

  • Individual totes track a single trolley that may contain a mixture of multiple orders.

  • Multiple totes tracks a trolley with multiple compartments (for example, a trolley with 6 bins). Each compartment on the trolley is a tote. You can then have each tote contain just one order.

Assign a tote number

Before you can use tote picking, you will need to enable totes for picking in the Warehouse Management settings.

  1. After picking the item, click Assign Tote.

  2. Enter the tote number and click Confirm.

  3. Select Complete. You can then search for that tote number in the packing screen.
