Add ShipStation fees to a sales order

Overview

Connecting to ShipStation will allow you to see shipping fees directly from the Sales Order module in Cin7 Omni.

Add weight to the product page

In order for shipping fees to calculate correctly, you must have applied a weight to each product within the order. The weight field must first be added to the product page.

To add the weight field to the product page:

While logged in as an Administrator, select your Username and then select Settings.
Select Product Settings.
Change the Dimensions drop-down to Yes.
-or-
Change the Option Weight drop-down to Yes (see below).
Scroll to the bottom and select Save.

Within the product page for each product, there will be a number of new fields. The Weight (KG) field should be used to determine the weight for each product.

Weights in Cin7 Omni

Weights can be applied at the product level or the product option level. This means if you have a product with a number of options, where each option has a significantly different weight, you can add a weight to each option.

The weight field specifies "KG"; however, imperial measurements can be used instead. Simply change to "pounds and ounces" in the ShipStation settings.

If you want to populate this field in bulk, you can use the product update feature to do this.

Add shipping fees to a sales order

To add calculated shipping fees to an order, there are a few prerequisites:

ShipStation has been connected to your Cin7 Omni account
Your dispatch branch has a valid postcode/ZIP code in the branch CRM page.
Your customer has a valid postcode/ZIP code in the Sales Order.
Each product in the order has a weight.

In order for freight fees to be calculated automatically, please contact your Cin7 Omni Onboarding team or Cin7 Omni Support to "switch on fee calculations" in the Sales Order module.

To add freight fees to an order:

Select the Freight description field (this is the larger of the two fields).
Select the appropriate fee from the drop-down that appears.

Selecting an option will input the cost of the freight; you may wish to manually increase the fee.
