Legacy B2B products and categories

Legacy B2B uses technology that is no longer supported or compatible with the Cin7 Omni platform.

Cin7 Omni no longer provides, for Legacy B2B:

  • technical support

  • security updates

  • bug fixes

  • other forms of assistance and support for the product

We recommend migrating to the B2B online store.

Overview

You can set up your products module to manage your Legacy B2B products and categories.

By default Legacy B2B hides products that do not have prices. You can change this in the Legacy B2B settings.

Categories control the navigation bar in your Legacy B2B site. Changing the categories in Cin7 Omni will change categories in Legacy B2B.

If you are using the B2B online store (not legacy), there are different steps for managing your products.

 

Add Legacy B2B product options

You need to enable some fields for Legacy B2B on the products module.
Administrator rights required

  1. Select your username (user menu) and then Settings.

  2. Select Products and then Product Settings.

  3. Change Show Website Options to Yes.

  4. Select Save.

Products will have five additional fields:

  • Sort
    Legacy B2B products will appear in alphabetical order. You can change this order by adding a number to the Sort field.

  • Loyalty Points
    Add the number of extra loyalty points earned when purchasing this product.

  • Image 2 & Image 3
    You can add two more product images for the Legacy B2B website.

  • Tags
    Add keywords for the Legacy B2B website for this product.

  • Description
    Add a product description to explain the product to your customer.

 

Categories

A product must be assigned to a category for it to appear in the B2B site. Similarly, at least one product must be assigned to a category before the category appears in the B2B site.

  1. Select Products in the navigation.

  2. Select edit next to the category.

  3. You can then change the B2B Website Options.

    • Show Category on B2B
      You do not have to display all your categories on your Legacy B2B site. Select Hide to remove a category on your Legacy B2B website.

    • Sort
      All categories appear in alphabetical order on your Legacy B2B. You can change this order by adding a number to the Sort field.

    • Category Thumbnail Image
      Category Thumbnails are shown when a number of categories appear on the page. Thumbnail images will display according to their dimensions. Thumbnails preferably have square dimensions.

    • Category Banner
      The category banner is a wide image at the top of the page when viewing a list of products in a category. The optimal size for a category banner is 770px x 365px. Products must be assigned to a category for the banner to display. Parent categories will not display a banner (because parent categories can't have assigned products).

    • Description
      A category description appears below the category banner image. It shows at the top of the page when you are viewing a list of products in a category and can be used to describe the contents of a category.

  4. Select Save & Close.

  5. Select Products in the navigation.

  6. Select Actions and select Update Website Category Navigation.

 

Your Legacy B2B will now have updated categories.
