Dispatch orders with Pick 'n' Pack

Dispatch orders with Pick 'n' Pack

Pick 'n' Pack uses technology that is no longer supported or compatible with the Cin7 Omni platform.

Cin7 Omni no longer provides, for Pick 'n' Pack:

  • technical support

  • security updates

  • bug fixes

  • other forms of assistance and support for the product

We recommend migrating to the Warehouse Management (WMS).

Overview

The Pick 'n' Pack is typically used in a warehouse setting, where users will pick items with a tablet and scanner to quickly dispatch one or multiple orders. The app is made up of two main pages: The "Orders" page, and the "Pick" page.

If you have not already set up the app, see the Setting Up the Pick 'n' Pack  Help article for additional details.

Order dispatching is done in three stages:

  1. Select the orders you would like to pick from the Orders page, either a single order or multiple orders.

  2. Pick the items in the selected orders from the Pick Page.

  3. Complete the orders

Dispatch orders

Before beginning, ensure that you have done the following things:

  • Select the correct branch from the top right of the screen.

  • Select Sync to make sure everything is up to date.

  • Make sure the Type dropdown is set to Orders.

Select orders to pick

If you have many orders, you can use filters to refine your list of orders in your Pick 'n' Pack. You can also start by picking a single order, or multiple orders.

  • Type
You can filter for Orders, Purchase Orders, and Stocktake items.

  • Time
You can filter orders based on the time they were made.

  • Stock
You can filter your orders based on their stock levels:

    • Stock available to partially complete order
Shows orders where only some items can be picked.

    • Stock available to complete order
Shows orders where all items can be picked.

    • Orders with stock received in last 48 hours
Shows orders where the items have recently arrived (received in the last 48 hours). This is good for seasonal orders.

  • Ref
You can filter for a specific order by its reference number.

Once you have filtered your orders, you can select a single order or multiple orders to pick.

  1. Set the Picking dropdown to One Order At A Time.

  2. From the Open tab, select the checkbox beside an order you would like to pick.

What is your recommended hardware?

Cin7 Omni works well with any tablet and Bluetooth scanner solution that can run Google Chrome. However, please ensure that you have tested the set-up before committing to a purchase, as some tablets and Bluetooth scanners may not be compatible with Cin7 Omni.
