Overview

Find out about integrating Cin7 Omni with third-party logistics providers (3PL).

Third-party logistics providers (3PLs) manage the storage and delivery of products on behalf of other businesses. By using a 3PL, businesses can avoid costly capital investments, simplify their fulfillment workflows, and more easily expand into new markets.

Cin7 Omni integrates with a large number of 3PLs and that list is always growing. With one of Omni's 3PL integrations, you can easily sync your sales orders, purchase orders, and branch transfers with your 3PL to replenish their stock levels and have them dispatch goods.

3PL workflow

Whether your transferring a sales order, purchase order, or branch transfer to your 3PL, you'll follow the same basic workflow. That includes (1) preparing the transaction for transfer (creating the pick or receipt request), (2) transferring the transactions (export the request), and finally (3) receiving confirmation (importing the pick or receipt confirmation), as depicted in the diagram below.

Shared data

Omni exports this data in requests to your 3PL:

  • Order reference

  • Contact name

  • Contact address

  • SKU

  • Quantity dispatched

And it imports this data in confirmations from your 3PL:

  • Order reference

  • Carrier code

  • Tracking code

  • SKU

  • Quantity dispatched

  • SSCC (in EDI workflows only)

These data are shared via both API- and FTP-based integrations. Additionally, you can import stock levels from your 3PL. Find out how to keep Omni and 3PL stock levels in sync.

No other data is imported or exported between Omni and your 3PL.
