Sync stock levels with 3PL
Overview
Find out how your Cin7 Omni stock levels keep in sync with your third-party logistics provider (3PL), and, when they get out of sync, how to import stock levels from your 3PL.
A product's stock level is the number of units available for sale.
It's crucial that Cin7 Omni has an accurate record of what stock is available at your third-party logistics provider (3PL). If stock levels are overestimated, you could oversell goods and damage your reputation. If they're underestimated, you could lose sales.
Typically, because your 3PL is linked to an Omni branch, you don't need to upload or download stock levels between Omni and your 3PL to keep them in sync. When you make a sale, a purchase, or a transfer for that branch, the sales order, purchase order, or branch transfer will alter your stock levels in Omni, and the associated pick or receipt request will alter the stock levels at your 3PL by the same amount.
At times, though, your Omni and 3PL stock levels may get out of sync, such as when stock is lost, damaged, or found at your 3PL. Your 3PL doesn't notify Omni when this happens.
So, if you think your Omni and 3PL stock levels are out of sync, you can import your 3PL stock levels to Omni.
