Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Overview

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds extra security when logging into Cin7 Omni. It requires two forms of identification for login—a password and verification code. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

2FA is mandatory. To set it up, download an authenticator app to a secure device and authorize it. During login, you'll enter your credentials and a verification code from the app.

You'll receive ten recovery codes when setting up 2FA. Use these if you lose access to your authenticator app. You can also verify your browser to only need a verification code every 30 days.

Set up 2FA

You’ll be prompted to set up 2FA the first time you log in after:

To set up 2FA, you must:

  1. Download an authenticator

  2. Authorize your device

Download an authenticator

Download an authenticator app or password manager to a secure device and review its instructions. Most popular options will work. But your business may have limitations, like not allowing mobiles or browser extensions.

  6. Type the verification code into the Verification Code field in Cin7 Omni.

  7. Select Verify.

  8. Save the ten red recovery codes somewhere safe.
