Product images

Overview

Product images can be stored against products. The images will appear in a number of places:

  • In the products list

  • In transaction pages, such as Sales Orders

  • On documents, such as Invoices and Purchase Orders

  • On your B2B site

  • In your integrated ecommerce sites

  • In your POS

Product images

Product Images are stored against the main product details. They are most useful for products with only one price option.

  1. From the left navigation, select Products.

  2. Find the product that you wish to edit and select the product Name.

  3. Upload the image to the Image 1 section by clicking the Image Icon. Upload the image and click Save.

Product option images

You can also create product option images are stored against Product Options. This is useful for products where there are multiple options and each option looks different. A good example would be a t-shirt that has multiple colors.

Upload an image

Images uploaded must match the following criteria:

  • Image files must be no larger than 3MB each.

  • Images must be .jpg, .jpeg ,gif, .png or .bmp.

  • Ideally images will be .jpg. While support for .gif, .bmp and .png is provided, these file types will be converted to .jpg upon upload. For images with transparency, this can cause quality issues

You can either add an image one at a time, or upload many images at once.

To upload an image:

  1. Select the grey picture image icon to the right of the Image field:

  2. In the window that appears, select Choose to find the image file on a storage location.

  3. Once chosen, select upload.

Delete an image

You can delete an image for a single product.

  1. Navigate to the product details screen.

  2. Remove the text from the Image 1 field. The resulting field should be blank, as pictured below.

  3. Finally, click Save.

You can also delete images from multiple products. You will need to export all products and then re-import without images.

Export and remove images from the spreadsheet:

  1. Hover over the actions drop-down menu in the Products module and select Export Products.

  2. Select Uncheck All.

  3. Check the Image 1 checkbox.

  4. Click the Export button on the bottom left-hand side.

  5. Open the spreadsheet of exported products.

  6. Remove the rows of all products that you do not wish to remove the images from. You should be left with only the products that have images that you would like to remove.

  7. Once you are confident that the spreadsheet contains only these products, remove all of the data from the Image 1 column.

Re-import the products without images:

  1. Hover of the Actions dropdown menu.

  2. Select Import and Update Products.

  3. Either upload or copy and paste your spreadsheet.

  4. Refresh the Products module.

Allow additional images

By default, only one image option is available in the Products page (i.e., the main product image). To add additional images, you will need to enable the additional fields in the Product Settings.

  1. While logged in as an Administrator, select your username in the top right and then select Settings.

  2. From the Products menu, select Product Settings.

  3. At the top of the screen, switch on the Option Image option by selecting Yes from the drop down. Select Save from the bottom of the page to confirm the change.
