Set up Linkly (PC-EFTPOS)
Overview
For New Zealand and Australian customers, you can connect Cin7 Omni with Linkly (PC-EFTPOS) to take card payments with your POS.
Linkly requires a Windows computer and will not work with IOS.
Requires Administrator rights
Set up Linkly with Cin7 Omni POS
Setting up your Linkly (PC-EFTPOS) and connecting it to your Cin7 Omni account has five main steps:
Install Linkly software
Install and setup your Linkly software. Contact Linkly support if you are unsure about what to install.
Download our Linkly setup files.
This includes the chrome_allow_http_localhost and PCEFTPOS_enable_rest_api files.Unzip the files by right clicking and choosing Extract All.
Click Extract to open the zipped file.
Move the PCEFTPOS_enable_rest_api file downloaded in step 1 to C:\Program Files (x86)\PC_EFT.
Double-click to run the PCEFTPOS_enable_rest_api file. The Register Editor window will open.
Click Yes to both prompts to continue and then click OK.
If you don't use Google Chrome, you can skip steps 8-10.
Double click the chrome_allow_http_localhost file.The Register Editor window will open. Click Yes to both prompts to continue and then click OK.
Restart your Google Chrome browser.
Restart Linkly Client Service
Once you have installed your Linkly software and the zipped files, you will need to restart the Linkly Client Service.
Go to the Windows Start menu and search for Services.
In the Services application, find and click on the Linkly Client.
With the Linkly Client row highlighted, click Restart.
Check the COM port
After you have installed your Linkly software, you will need to check it is using the right COM port.
You will need to confirm Linkly is using the correct COM port.
Open Device Manager by searching in your Windows Start menu.Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) section.
You will see the name of the COM port in brackets at the end. Make note of the port name, so you can check Linkly is using the correct port.
Open the Linkly Client GUI by double clicking the icon in your system tray.
Check the COM port is correct and shows PINPAD ONLINE.
Setup Cin7 Omni to use Linkly
Select your username and then Settings.
Select POS Payments Setup.
Under PC Eftpos, change the PC Eftpos Enabled to Yes. Additional fields will appear.
Do not change the PC Eftpos Server Address, it is filled in by default.If you want print a receipt from the card terminal, select Yes next to Append Terminal Receipt to POS Receipt.
Select Save but stay on the same page.
Go to the Payment Options table in POS Payments Setup.
Select Edit next to the row with the Card Method.
Choose PCEftpos in the PIN pad column.
Click Update.
Select Save at the bottom of the page.
Make a payment with Linkly and Cin7 Omni POS
Linkly uses HTTP, therefore you will see the new tab whenever you process a payment on Linkly as you are transitioning from Cin7 Omni's HTTPS to the gateway's HTTP protocol.
Make a Sale or Return.
When you select Pay,Cin7 Omni will pass the amount to the Linkly PIN pad.
Select the payment method depending on your setup and then the customer can pay with their card.
A receipt will be printed from POS (and your terminal if you have set this up).
If you are unable to make a payment, check your Linkly settings and that the Address field is blank. If this does not work, contact Linkly support directly at support@linkly.com.au
Terminal serial number and TID
You can get the serial number and TID for the terminal with these keys on the terminal:
Serial Number: Func + 74 + Enter
TID: Func + 3824 + Enter
Lost pinpad connection
Google Chrome now requires extra security when using a Linkly terminal (which is a localhost connection). For each Google Chrome browser, you will need to enable Local network access.
In Google Chrome, open up your Cin7 POS.
In the Google Chrome address bar, select View site information icon.
Select Site settings. This will open the Google Chrome settings for pos.cin7.com
Change the Local network access setting to Allow.
Close the settings. Google Chrome will automatically save your selection.
Refresh the page for Cin7 POS. You should now be able to use Linkly with your Cin7 POS.
You may need to do this for other pages in Cin7 POS if you see the loading screen.
