Download products from Neto

Download products from Neto

Overview

Find out how to download products from Neto.

Products are the goods your business buys or manufactures and sells.

And over time, as your market changes and business grows, you’ll add new products to your inventory. If you prefer to create new products in Neto, you can then download them to Cin7 Omni.

When you download products, Omni breaks your Neto product catalog into three groups:

  • Mapped products

  • Unmapped, mappable products

  • Unmapped, unmappable products

A mapped product already exists in Neto and Omni. A mapping has already been created, too, between its Neto and Omni versions. When you download products from Neto, these products are ignored.

An unmapped, mappable product already exists in Neto and Omni. But a mapping has not been created between its Neto and Omni versions. When you download products from Neto, mappings are created for these products.

And finally, an unmapped, unmappable product only exists in Neto—these are your new products. When you download products from Neto, a matching Omni product is created for each new product. A mapping between the Neto and Omni versions is created too, so their sales, stock levels, and other details keep in sync.

If you create new products in Omni, upload products to Neto instead.

Download products

Before downloading products from Neto:

  • Create your new products in Neto.

  • Review how Neto products with and without variations are downloaded (see below).

  • Keep in mind that what Neto calls variations Omni calls options, and while Neto products may have no variations, Omni products always have at least one option (the default option).

Now download products from Neto:

  1. Log in to Cin7 Omni.

  2. From the Integrations menu in the navigation, open your Neto integration.

  3. Select Download Products on the Product Status tile.

  4. Open the Download Products tab.

  5. Select Import Products Created Since Last Import.

  6. You’ll be shown the total number of Neto products that are either:

    • Unmapped and mappable, for which Omni will create mappings, or

    • Unmapped and unmappable, which Omni will download (that is, Omni will create matching products and mappings).

  7. Select Next, which takes you to the Products Not Matched tab, where you’ll be shown a summary (note that, at this stage, mappings have been created for any unmapped, mappable product):

    • New Products is the number of new (that is, unmapped and unmappable) Neto products, which Omni will download.

    • New Product Options is the number of variations across the new (that is, unmapped and unmappable) Neto products, which Omni will download.

    • Existing Price Options Linked is the number of unmapped and mappable Neto products, for which Omni has created mappings.

  8. Review the summary and sample. Then select Next. You’ll be taken to the Custom Mappings tab.

  9. You don’t want to create custom mappings, so select Next. You’ll be taken to the Products to Import tab.

  10. Optionally, if you want to download only a subset of new Neto products, select Download Products to Import. A spreadsheet will download. Remove from the spreadsheet the rows of products you don’t want to download. Then, in Omni, select Choose File and upload the edited spreadsheet.

  11. Select Next. You’ll be taken to the Create New Products Tab.

  12. Select Import New Products.

Now you've downloaded your Neto products. But you must link your products to your Neto channel, too, or else its stock levels in Omni and Neto won't keep in sync:

  1. From the navigation, open Products.

  2. For each product downloaded from Neto:

    1. Open the product.

    2. Under ClassificationsChannels, select your Neto integration.

    3. Click Save and Close.

How products download

How each product downloads depends on whether it has variations. Here’s how Neto products with and without variations are downloaded:

Products without variations

Omni products always have at least one option (the default option).

When you download a Neto product without variations, Omni creates a product with only the default option. The Neto product’s details are downloaded to the Omni product (and default option) as follows:

Products with variations

When you download a Neto product with variations, Omni creates a new product with an option for each variation.

In order to create the Omni product options, each "specific type" of the Neto product becomes an Option Label of the Omni product, and each "specific value" becomes a value of the corresponding Option Label of the Omni product.

The details of the Neto product and its variations are downloaded to the Omni product and its options as follows:

Download new variations

If you create new variations of a Neto product that’s already mapped to an Omni product, you must delete the product's mappings and redownload the product and its variations:

  1. Log in to Cin7 Omni.

  2. From the Integrations menu in the navigation, select your Neto integration.

  3. On the Product Status tile of your Neto integration’s dashboard, select View Mapped Products. You’ll see a list of your product mappings.

  4. Delete the product’s current mappings—don’t select Delete All, which would delete all mappings.

  5. Now download the product again (see above)—when you download the product, the old mappings will be recreated at step 7, and the new variations will be downloaded and mapped at step 12.
