Delete a product
Overview
You are able to delete a product completelyif the product does not have any transaction history (it has never been purchased, sold, or had a stock adjustment).
If the Product you are wanting to delete has one or more transaction records, in order to preserve data integrity, it is not possible to be deleted. However, it is possible to switch the Display status of the Product to inactive.
Delete a product

From the left navigation, select Products.

Find the product that you wish to delete and select the product Name.

Select Delete.
Make a product inactive
If your product has any transaction history, you will need to make it inactive instead of deleting it. By default an Inactive product will not show in your product list page and will not be searchable from the transaction pages.

From the left navigation, select Products.

Find the product that you wish to make inactive and select the product Name to edit the details.

Change Display to "Turn Off / Inactive"

Select eitherSave and Continue, Save & Create New or Save and Closeto save the changes.
Make products inactive in bulk
Although it is not possible to delete multiple products at one time, it is possible to change products to inactive in Bulk.
First, export a list of products:

From the Products module, hover over the Actions button and select Export Products.

Select the fields you require (required fields are already selected).
Make sure you select either Display or Product Option Status, as these control whether a product is active or inactive. Select Export from the bottom of the page to exports as a spreadsheet. In the exported spreadsheet, change Display(if available) from "1" to "0". "0" changes the status to "Turn Off / Inactive".

Is it possible to bulk delete products?
In certain situations, bulk delete all or a group of products may be possible. Contact Cin7 Omni Support to discuss available options and potential related fees.
If you are in the process of onboarding as a new customer, an additional option to "scrub" the system may be possible. Contact your Cin7 Omni Onboarding specialist for additional information.
My colleague accidentally deleted all our products by accident. HELP!
Painful, for sure, and definitely not recommended! No promises, but there may be an option to restore your product information from back-up. Contact Cin7 Omni Support as soon as possible after the mistaken delete occurs to discuss available options and related fees.
