Cin7 x Shopify Integration - Cin7 Should Not Download Orders that are On Hold in Shopify

David Watumull

We temporarily place new orders on hold in Shopify so customers can edit/cancel for a short period of time after order submission if necessary, but Cin7 automatically downloads the orders regardless of being on hold in Shopify.

Cin7 should have a setting to not download orders that are on hold in Shopify.

Otherwise, we should have the option to set the Cin7 stage for such orders to On Hold rather than the default stage for imported orders (e.g., Fully Picked), and when the hold in released in Shopify, Cin7 should automatically update the stage from On Hold to the default stage (e.g., Fully Picked) upon the next sync.

    Hi David,

Sharon here from Beyond Expectations - a partner for Cin7.

Have you tried in the Shopify Dashboard Settings clicking on the “financial status filter" to say Yes and checking just the orders you want to import. There isn't a hold option - but perhaps deselecting pending will prevent those orders coming in - you could certainly ensure only the orders ‘paid’ and ‘authorised’ are importing in the first instance.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Sharon. Appreciate your assistance and thoughtful suggestion. Unfortunately, deselecting “pending” does not solve this issue, because the financial status of the order is “paid” (not “pending”), and the order would otherwise be ready for Cin7 download. We temporarily place a fulfillment hold in Shopify (using the Revize app) to allow customers a bit of time after placing (and paying for) the order to edit/cancel if needed, and then we release the order for fulfillment, which is when Cin7 should download the order.
