Automated invoicing
Would be great if, upon receiving the ‘dispatched’ write-back from freight software, Cin7 would automatically invoice the sales order and email the invoice to the customer

What is the freight software you use to dispatch the order from?
They might have a setting to invoice the order at the same time.

Is the integration between Cin7 & NZ Post e-ship or Cin7 & shipping aggregator like StarshipIT?
If it is a custom integration, whoever has built the integration for you, they are able to modify it so that the Invoice date is entered at the same time as entering in Fully Dispatch Date.

If you use Xero, you can use Zapier to automatically send invoices.
We used an automation bot in cin7 to email sales orders automatically once an invoice date is added. Works well. Only solves half of your problem though
