Multiple bin locations per product with option for default bin in WMS module
We need the option in the WMS module to print a defined default bin location on the consolidated pick slips. Currently the system choses a random location when multiple bins are assigned to the same product. We require multiple bin locations however for our products sitting in the default pick locations, but also in bulk locations and overflow locations. Without this function stock will not accurately deduct from the bin locations, cycle counts will not be possible either.
Please all in favor vote for this functionality, so that it may be developed asap.

This is such an important part of WMS, not sure how this has been missed.
I have tried to change the hierarchy of our warehouse locations in the hope that the WMS would identify the correct flow, when an item is scanned it just randomly chooses whatever it wants. A nightmare for any warehouse looking to streamline their operations.
I agree, what we do is have all our pick faces first in the flow then all our reserves last in the flow, if you wanted to have. You can choose which location it picks from.
I doubt much will happen with this, unfortunately nothing has been done to the WMS in months, and they don't listen to people who use the system and have more than not used other systems so have a good idea of what is needed. I have suggested they do this and have auto replenishments but that has fallen on deaf ears.
Yeah, so strange David. The problem is our warehouse uses scanners and when scanning, it auto-defaults to the location with the most units. We'd have to manually tap the item, then tap the location they are scanning from - as the WMS can't scan Cin7's own location barcodes. Even if we wanted to have our warehouse team scan the location, then scan the product they need - Cin7 doesn't allow it. Baffling.
Hi Dion, The way we have our sequencing set up it will go to the location that is first in sequence that has "any" stock of that product no matter how much stock is in the location. Are you using Core or Omni?
Hi David,
We are using Omni, regardless of the sequence we have these set up, the scan of the product defaults to the most units. Annoying.
