Freight description does not transfer to backorders - Eg. Express Shipping

Matthew Isokangas

In our business, we use the backorder function to split stocked items which are held in different locations/warehouses. We also use the backorder function for backordered products which are available for pre-order. At the moment, when creating a backorder, the freight description does not carry across to the backorder. Typing this manually for each backorder is not convenient and leaves room for error. In particular, when a customer has paid for Express Shipping. This should be noted across all parts of their order. Ideally, the freight field should be replicated on the backorder.

Agree this would be very useful, although at least for us, it will still require manual calculation of shipping (e.g, if a client purchases 2x items on INV 1234 and paid $20 for shipping; the 2x items are split 1x to INV 1234 and 1x to 1234A, someone will still have to separate out $10 to each invoice for shipping - no way to automate that bc the amount could also be different based on sending two shipments rather than one, etc.).  Nonetheless, even generating the shipping method automatically on hypothetical INV 1234A would be great!
