Set up Starshipit
Overview
Find out how to install, connect, and configure a Starshipit integration, how to import sales orders for shipping, and how to receive real-time shipping rates.
Before setting up this integration, you’ll need a Starshipit account.
Install Starshipit
Log in to Cin7 Omni as an administrator.
From the navigation, open the App Store.
Select the Shipping tab.
Select Starshipit.
Select Request App Installation and Install to confirm.
Once your request has been approved, you’ll find your Starshipit integration in the Integrations menu in the navigation.
Connect Starshipit
To connect your Starshipit integration, you’ll need your integration’s ID and Key:
Log in to Cin7 Omni as an administrator.
Open the user menu (top right) and select Settings.
Select your Starshipit integration under Integrations & API.
Select Reset Key and OK to confirm.
Select Save.
Select Save again.
You’ll be shown your Starshipit integration’s ID and Key. Follow Starshipit’s instructions to connect to Omni. Once you’ve connected, configure your integration (see below).
Configure Starshipit
Your Starshipit integration can
import sales orders to Starshipit for shipping and download status updates, and
calculate shipping rates (the rates calculator).
Configure import sales orders
Log in to Cin7 Omni.
From the Integrations menu in the navigation, open your Starshipit integration.
Open Settings.
Set Invoice Order Upon Completion, Get Orders From, and Include BOM ‘Use’ Items (see below for descriptions).
Select Save.
Set Invoice Order Upon Completion to Yes and your Omni sales orders will be updated when you print their labels in Starshipit (so long as the order has a tracking number in Starshipit):
their Fully Dispatched date will be set to the date you printed their labels,
their Invoice Date will be set to the date you printed their labels, and
their Stage will be set to Dispatched.
Otherwise, set this setting to No.
Set Get Orders From to All Branches to have Starshipit import sales orders from all branches; otherwise, set it to Selected Branches and select which branches to have sales orders imported from.
Set Include BOM ‘Use’ Items to Yes and the components in an expanded bill of material (BOM) will each become an item in the order in Starshipit; otherwise, set it to No and only the finished BOM product will become an item in the order.
Configure rates calculator
Log in to Cin7 Omni.
From the Integrations menu in the navigation, open your Starshipit integration.
Open Settings.
Enter your Starshipit API key into the setting Starshipit API Key.
Enter your Starshipit subscription key into the setting Starshipit Subscription Key.
Under Package Options, recreate your Starshipit packages – Omni can’t download your Starshipit package details, so in order for the rates calculator to work accurately, you must re-define their specifications here.
Select Save.
Import sales orders
Once you’ve connected and configured your integration, you can import sales orders to Starshipit.
To be imported to Starshipit, the Omni sales order’s Fully Dispatched date must be blank and its Stage must be set to one of the Import Stages you chose when connecting Starshipit to Omni (see above).
Then follow Starshipit’s instructions to automatically or manually import orders from Omni.
Rates calculator
Once you’ve configured the rate calculator, use it to see estimated shipping costs for your Starshipit couriers:
Log in to Cin7 Omni.
From the Integrations menu in the navigation, open your Starshipit integration. You’ll see the rate calculator.
Enter the package’s destination (Ship To) and weight (Weight) in kilograms.
Select Get Rates. You’ll see estimated shipping costs from your couriers under Shipping Rates Results.
