Install Epson TM-m30II and print receipts

Overview

You can print your receipts with the Epson TM-m30II printer. It is inexpensive, compact, and compatible with Mac via USB or Network and PC via USB.

Install Epson TM-m30II for PC

Install the Epson TM-m30II on a Windows PC via USB as follows:

  1. Download and install the appropriate drivers from the Epson site.

  2. Connect the printer via USB and follow the provided instructions for installing the printer.

  3. At this point, you may also wish to edit the settings for the printer by finding the printer in the Windows Control Panel Devices and Printers section, right-click on the printer, and select Printer Properties.

  4. You can alter the printer behavior such as determining how the Cash Drawer opens.

  5. Once installed, make a sale from the POS to trigger a receipt to print.

  6. In your web browser Print screen, select the TM-m30II from the Destination drop-down.

  7. Select More Settings.

  8. Paper Size should be set to 80 x 297 mm.

  9. Though the print preview appears to have a lot of blank space, the printer settings will be set to cut this off.

  10. Set Margins to "None".

  11. Select Print to print your receipt.

Install the Epson TM-m30II on an Apple Mac via USB as follows:

  1. Download and install the appropriate drivers from the Epson site.

  2. Connect the printer via USB and follow the provided instructions for installing the printer.

  3. Once installed, make a sale from the POS to trigger a receipt to print.

  4. In your Web browser Print screen, select the TM-m30II from the Destination dropdown.

  5. Select More Settings.

  6. Roll Paper Size should be set to 80 x 297 mm.

  7. Though the print preview appears to have a lot of blank space, the printer settings will be set to cut this off.

  8. Set Margins to "None".

  9. At this point, you may also wish to edit the settings for the printer by selecting Print using System Dialog...

  10. You can alter the printer behavior such as determining how the Cash Drawer opens.

  11. Select Print to print your receipt.

Network printing

You can also connect the Epson TM-m30II to work via a network which is useful if your Apple Mac has no free USB ports.

Network printing also has the advantage of allowing receipts to print automatically without having to select "print" in your Web browser print dialog, allowing for a more streamlined POS experience.

The receipt layout cannot be modified by the Receipt Builder if using network printing.

To set this up:

  1. As an Administrator, navigate to the POS settings, set Close the print dialogue after printing to "Yes" and Save.

  2. Connect your printer to your network using a standard network (Ethernet) cable. When connecting the printer to the network, it will receive an IP; retain the IP address as you will need it later.

  3. In the POS, make a test transaction to initiate a receipt to print.

  4. In the top right of the following screen, select Configure IP Printer.If you do not see this screen (see above), contact Cin7 Omni Support.

  5. Enter the IP address of the printer.

  6. Select Epson (TM-T88V-i) model from the drop-down.

  7. Select Test to print a test receipt.

  8. Select Save.
