CRM import template

Overview

You can import new contacts into Cin7 Omni in bulk. You will need to download the CRM import template and then add the new contacts to this spreadsheet before importing into Cin7 Omni.

Cash Customer and Cash Supplier can not be imported.

Edit the spreadsheet

You will need to:

  • Delete any help or placeholder text that appears beneath the first row (the header row).

  • Enter Company, First Name, and Contact Type (customer or supplier) for each contact. These fields are required for a contact to be created in the CRM.

  • After you enter any other information, hide all the unused rows and save the file as a .CSV.

Once you have finished editing your spreadsheet, you can import your new contacts.

Spreadsheet fields

Column name

Explanation

Company

Add the company name of the contact.
Required field (if First Name is not used)

First Name

Add the first name of the contact.
Required field (if Company Name is not used).

Last Name

Add the last name of the contact.

Job Title

Add the job title of the contact.

Contact Type

Add the category of the contact. The contact can be a "Customer", "Supplier", or "Branch".

Required field

Primary Company

Add the name of the primary company of the contact.
A primary company will list the contact as a secondary contact for the company listed against the record.

Pricing Option

Add the pricing categories, "Wholesale", "Retail", or "VIP" based on the pricing option of the contact.

Payment Terms

Add the payment term  of the contact. For example, "30th of Following Month".

Alternative GL

Add the alternative general ledger account  of the contact. For example, "Wholesale Revenue".

Tax Status

Add the tax status (Tax Rate) of the contact. For example, "Exempt".
Tax status (Tax Rate) only becomes applicable if the contact uses an alternative tax rate.

Tax Number

Add the company/contact's tax number.

Group

Add the category in which customers are grouped together. Groups and sub-groups help while generating reports.

Sub Group

Add the sub-category which customers are grouped into. Groups and sub-groups help while generating reports.

Mobile

Add the mobile number of the contact.

Phone

Add the contact's phone number.

Fax

Add the fax number of the contact/company.

Website

Add the contact's website address.

Email

Add the email address of the contact/company.

Password

Add the contact's Legacy B2B password.

Assigned Product Codes

Add the assigned product codes for this customer for Legacy B2B.

Delivery Address 1

Add the customer/suppliers address.
For customers, this is where you deliver the goods.
For suppliers, this is their physical address.
For branches, the physical address of the branch.

Delivery Address 2

Add more details about the customer/suppliers address.
For customers, this is where you deliver the goods.
For suppliers, this is their physical address.
For branches, the physical address of the branch.

Delivery Postal Code

Add the zip code of the contact's address.

Delivery City

Add the delivery city of the contact.

Delivery State

Add the delivery state of the contact.

Delivery Country

Add the delivery country of the contact.

Billing Address 1

Add the customer/supplier billing address.

Billing Address 2

Add more details about the customer/supplier billing address.

Billing Postal Code

Add the zip code of the contact's billing address.

Billing City

Add the billing city of the contact.

Billing State

Add the billing state of the contact.

Billing Country

Add the billing country of the contact.

Billing Company

Add the billing company of the contact.

Stage

Add the assigned stage of the contact.

Quick Notes

Add any small notes.

Notes

Add any notes.

Billing First Name

Add the first name of the contact's alternative account. This is applicable when the contact has an alternative account. 

Billing Last Name

Add the last name of the contact's alternative account. This is applicable when the contact has an alternative account. 

Billing Phone

Add the phone number of the contact's alternative account. This is applicable when the contact has an alternative account.

Billing Email

Add the billing email of the contact's alternative account. This is applicable when the contact has an alternative account.

Legal Name

Add the contact's legal name. This is applicable when the contact as a separate legal name.
