Overview

Most POS setups will require a cash drawer. There are a variety of cash drawers available on the market. Cash drawers do not need to integrate with your computer - instead they will plug directly into your receipt printer, typically with an RJ12 cable. Within the printer settings on your PC you will choose if the cash drawer should open before or after the till receipt prints.

When choosing your cash drawer, the most important thing to look for is compatibility with your current receipt printer. All Cin7 Omni supported receipt printers use cash drawers that connect via an RJ12 cable.

Open a cash drawer

If there’s difficulty faced when opening the Cash drawer, please follow these steps.

  1. Launch the Printers and Scanners window.

  2. Open Receipt Printer for example “EPSON TM-T20 Receipt” > Click on the Printer > Click Manage option.

  3. Click on Printing preferences.

  4. Access the Peripheral tab.

  5. Look for the Cash drawer option under Peripherals.

  6. Set the Cash Drawer option to Open.

  7. Click Apply and then OK.

This will open the Cash drawer accordingly.
