Import sales orders

Import sales orders

Overview

You can import your sales orders into Cin7 Omni from a spreadsheet by:

  1. Downloading and editing the import template.

  2. Uploading the spreadsheet data into Cin7 Omni.

  3. Mapping spreadsheet columns to Cin7 Omni fields.

  4. Importing sales orders.

We recommend breaking your import into smaller batches if you have complex sales orders or if you need to import over 1000 sales orders.

Download and edit template

You can download the sales order template. You can edit the spreadsheet and add your sales order information. There are some rules for importing sizes, alternative units of measure, and BOM products.

Upload spreadsheet data into Cin7 Omni

After you have added your sales orders to the sales order import template, you can add this to Cin7 Omni.

  1. In the navigation, select Sales and then Sales Orders.

  2. Select Actions and then Import Sales Orders.

  3. You can then import your sales orders by selecting either:

    1. Import from file upload
Cin7 Omni will import the data from the uploaded spreadsheet.

      1. Select Choose file and then select your .csv spreadsheet.

      2. Select Next Step.

  4. Or Copy and paste file from clipboard
You can copy and paste the data from a spreadsheet. Cin7 Omni will then import what you have pasted.

    1. Copy your spreadsheet data and paste it into the field.

    2. Select Next Step.

Map spreadsheet columns to Cin7 Omni fields

  1. Cin7 Omni will suggest fields that match your spreadsheet columns.

  2. If the Cin7 Field is blank, or mapped to the wrong field, click on the Cin7 Field dropdown and choose the field you want to update.

  3. If you have errors, you will see a list of all duplicate Order References, unknown products or contacts. You can:

    • Match the correct products or choose to Continue Import with Missing Items included. Selecting Continue Import with Missing Items included will not update the stock levels for those products. This could be useful for non stock products where you don't need the inventory updated.

    • Match the correct contact by searching for a contact's company name, first name, or last name. Leave the field blank to create a new contact.  When you have matched all of the missing contacts (or want to create new contacts), select Match contacts, create missing contacts, and continue with the import.

    • Otherwise, you can download all sales orders with errors and then reimport after fixing these issues.

  4. Select Next Step.

Import sales orders

  1. Select Test to check if your import will cause any errors.

  2. Select Import New Sales Order.

  3. You will see a green success message if your sales orders import was successful.

  4. Select Finish, Back to Sales Orders.
