Multi-byte character set in Cin7 Omni

Multi-byte character set in Cin7 Omni

Overview

Multi-byte character set (MBCS) support allows non-Western languages such as Chinese and Japanese to be displayed in Cin7 Omni.  Some, but not all, fields in Cin7 Omni are able to support MBCS.

Setup and limitations

Cin7 Omni is able to save and display multibyte non-Western characters in certain fields like Product Name, Customer Name, and Address.

To enable this support, contact Cin7 Omni Support and identify which fields you would like and the character set you wish to use.

However, there are certain fields that are unable to support these characters. Cin7 Omni Support will identify which, if any, of your identified fields are not able to provide multibyte support at the time of your request.

The Cin7 Omni API supports multibyte characters but multi-byte characters inserted into fields not set up to support multi-byte characters will not display correctly.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact Cin7 Omni Support for advice.
