Merge sales orders

Overview

You can merge multiple Sales Orders to a single Sales Order by combining two Sales Orders into one.

Merging sales orders will add the line items from the smallest order to the order with the highest value. The smaller sales order, will be emptied, and then voided.

There are some important points to note before merging sales:

  • The system allows you to merge Sales with various currencies and tax rates, but you should avoid doing so. Before merging, ensure that the sales are consistent.

  • The merging procedure cannot be reversed, so be quite certain that you want to merge before proceeding.

  • Be very careful merging sales with a large number of line items. If the resulting order has too many line items (500 or more) the order may not open.

  • Sales should only be merged before they have been dispatched.

Merge sales orders

  1. From the left navigation, select Sales then click Sales Orders.

  1. Select the two orders you'd like to merge.

  2. From the Actions menu, select Merge Sales Orders, select OK to the pop up message. You will be directed to the Edit Sales Order page.

  1. Once completed, Save the resulting Sales Order to complete the merge.

FAQs

If both orders contain the same products, will these products be consolidated into one line?

No - merging Sales Orders will simply insert the lines of the smaller value order underneath the lines of the largest value order.
