Check credit notes for reconciliation

Overview

Find and fix credit notes causing discrepancies between Cin7 Omni and Xero or QuickBooks Online.

Credit notes must have the following information to sync with Xero or QuickBooks Online:

  • A Completed Date

  • A Credit Note Date

If a credit note has one but not the other, Cin7 Omni and Xero or QuickBooks Online won’t reconcile. You must find these credit notes and add the missing information for reconciliation.

Find credit notes to fix

First, find credit notes with a Completed Date but no Credit Note Date:

  1. From the Sales menu in the navigation, open Credit Notes.

  2. Set Customer Credit Note Status to Completed. In the results, any credit note with a blank Accounting value has a Completed Date but no Credit Note Date.

Then find credit notes with a Credit Note Date but no Completed Date:

  1. From the Sales menu in the navigation, open Credit Notes.

  2. Set Customer Credit Note Status to Open Credit Notes. In the results, any credit note with a blank Completed Date has a Credit Note Date but no Completed Date.

Fix credit notes

For each of these credit notes missing either a Completed Date or Credit Note Date, open the transaction and add the missing data and save. Then sync your credit notes to Xero or sync your credit notes to QuickBooks Online—if your credit note isn’t available on your Xero or QuickBooks Online integration dashboard to be synced, try increasing the Update Transactions for Number of Past Months setting in your Xero settings or QuickBooks Online settings.
