Map products to Amazon FBA

Map products to Amazon FBA

Overview

Find out about mapping products to Amazon FBA.

Mappings link products in Cin7 Omni to products in Amazon FBA.

They underpin a centralized inventory by ensuring Amazon FBA dispatches the right products and Cin7 Omni has up-to-date stock levels.

When you import a new product from Amazon FBA, a mapping is automatically created between the product’s Omni and Amazon FBA versions. But you can create mappings for products that already exist in both Amazon FBA and Omni too, and delete mappings that are obsolete.

Note that you must create separate mappings for each Amazon FBA dashboard (that is, for each regional marketplace) and for your Amazon Seller integrations.

Also note that Amazon FBA is a feature of the Amazon Seller Central platform. So these instructions explain how to map an Omni product to a product in Amazon Seller Central that uses Amazon FBA.

What products can I map?

You can create mappings between:

  • An Amazon product to an Omni product

  • An Amazon product to an Omni product option

  • An Amazon product to an Omni size option

  • An Amazon variation to an Omni product

  • An Amazon variation to an Omni product option

  • An Amazon variation to an Omni size option

In order to create a mapping between products, the products must be mappable and unmapped. That means:

  • The SKU of the Amazon product must match the Code or Barcode of the Omni product.

  • Neither product has any mappings. For Omni products, this means neither the product nor any of its options or size options have mappings to this Amazon regional marketplace. And for Amazon products, it means neither the product nor any of its variations have any mappings to Omni via this Amazon FBA dashboard.

Alternatively, if you want to create mappings between products whose SKU and Code/Barcode doesn’t match, you can create a custom mapping (see below). If you want to create a new mapping for a product with an existing mapping (for example, for a new variation of an Amazon product), you must remap the product (see below).

Keep in mind that Omni products always have at least one option (the default). So, when you create a mapping from an Omni product, you’re really creating a mapping from the product’s default option.

Create mappings

  1. Log in to Cin7 Omni.

  2. From the Integrations menu in the navigation, open the relevant Amazon FBA dashboard.

  3. On the Product Imports tile, select Import Products.

  4. Open the Download Products tab.

  5. Select Import Products.

You’ll temporarily see a loading bar and then be returned to Omni. You should see a blue banner that says: “We’re importing your products. In 15 minutes, re-select Import Products to continue.”

You must wait fifteen minutes while Amazon gathers your product data for Omni. You can leave the page while you wait. Once fifteen minutes has passed:

  1. Select Import Products again. You’ll be shown the total number of products that can be either downloaded or mapped.

  2. Select Next to create your mappings. You’ll be taken to the Products Not Matched tab. There the total number of Existing Price Options Linked and Existing Size Options Linked is the number of mappings that were created.

You’ve created your mappings. Now select Back to Dashboard. There you can review your mappings (see below).

Create custom mappings

Like regular mappings, custom mappings link Omni to Amazon products. The difference is that neither the Code nor Barcode of the Omni product needs to match the SKU of the Amazon product.

To create a custom mapping, follow the steps above to create regular mappings, which end at step 7 on the Products Not Matched tab. Then:

  1. Select Next. You’ll be taken to the Custom Mappings tab.

  2. Select Download Products to Apply Custom Mappings. A spreadsheet will download.

  3. Open the spreadsheet. Each row is an unmapped, unmappable Amazon product. You can create custom mappings for any of these products.

  4. For each Amazon product you want to create a custom mapping for, enter the Code of the Omni product or product option you want to map it to into the column Cin7 Code.

  5. Save the spreadsheet.

  6. In Omni, select Choose File and upload the edited spreadsheet.

  7. Select Next to create your mappings.

You’ve created your custom mappings. Now select Back to Dashboard where you can review your mappings (see below).

View and delete mappings

  1. Log in to Cin7 Omni.

  2. From the Integrations menu in the navigation, open the relevant Amazon FBA dashboard.

  3. On the Product Imports tile, select View Mapped Products.

  4. Either:

    1. to delete a single mapping, select Delete next to it, or

    2. to delete all mappings, select Delete Allthis cannot be undone.

Remapping

In order to create a new mapping, the Omni and Amazon products must both be entirely unmapped – for example, you can’t create a mapping between a new Omni product option and its matching Amazon variation if existing options and variations are already mapped.

So, if you create new Omni products or product options to map to Amazon – or, conversely, if you create new Amazon products or variations to map to Omni – and either the Omni or Amazon product is already partially mapped, you must completely remap the product:

  1. Delete the mappings (see above) connected to the Omni product (including options and size options) and the Amazon product (including variations) for which you want to create an additional mapping.

  2. Create new mappings (see above).
